AP 3D: Concentration 4

 



Manipulation of Material:

While I mixed quite a few media for this project, the one material I want to discuss is paper. I never quite figured out paper because I didn't have enough time for the paper project (a time management flop) but I quite like it now that I've actually figured out how to use it! Even though it's kinda finicky, it can be strong if you use it the right way, like with how I made the frame of the bird. I also like that it bends easily, so smooth curves weren't hard to achieve like they are with other materials. 

Problem Solving: 

The process of creating the cage was really hard, so the problem I had was sticking with it. It doesn't look great from all angles, and I know that it doesn't look right in some of the photos here, but I'm glad that I was able to persevere. It was really hard to get the reed to stick together, and taping all of it (because hot glue wouldn't work) and then wrapping it with wire was much more time consuming and draining (?) than I thought it would be. Even though it was hard, I do like the concept for this piece and so I'm glad I stuck with it.

              101 people participated in the trial. 54 were in the treatment group. 47 were in the placebo group.      As a part of the FDA, I probably wouldn't approve this medicine. Even thought 100% (101/101) people got better, 11% had side effects. You have specified that that 11% had side effects, but we do not know what the side effects are. We can not approve the medicine until we understand that the side effects aren't harmful, and can be easily cured.            Also, were the participants all in the same nature and stage of the disease when they took the medicine? Did you use a double blind study, or any other method to ensure accuracy and precision? Accuracy and precision is very important during a clinical trial. English Formative Reflection: Q1

 FORMATIVE LANGUAGE REFLECTION  My punctuation in all the sentence types are correct in all of the sentence types, but I could improve by being more precise. In both my complex and compound-complex sentences, I put an "of how" after my DMW in both. Removing this could definitely make my points more concise and more believable to a reader. Next time, I'd like to challenge myself by experimenting with different structures within the sentences. For joining independent clauses, I like to use the semicolon followed by a coordinating conjunction method. I would like to challenge myself next time to use FANBOYS instead, which would make my writing easier on the eye and would also make it more concise.  FORMATIVE SPEAKING REFLECTION The best part of the discussion was the "meat" of the discussion itself.
